Lucky 32 - Cary, NC

NARRATIVE
Visiting Raleigh this weekend for my mom's 60th, we were treated to LOTS of local treats. Her friend Lizette took us to Lucky 32 for lunch today to have girl time and talk and catch up. It was a GORGEOUS day in the Triangle for a lovely and leisurely brunch.
I remember when Lucky 32 opened its first restaurant in Raleigh a few years back. A refreshing and new type of eatery to the Triangle. Apparently it's been given the seal of approval, because it's expanded!

SUMMARY
Fine dining in the Triangle was a passion of mine when my family first moved. Little hot spots with unique menus and a dining experience were mine to explore after coming from Syracuse, NY and beginning to find where palettes could be satisfied.
Lucky 32 has not disappointed.
In Cary we walked into an elegant dining room with comfortable lighting and seated right away in a booth with a perfect view of the kitchen. Each table had a yellow rose. Set against deep red wood work, it gave the entire dining room a warm, welcoming feel. We were quickly greeted by our server, offered our beverages, and had an opportunity to peruse the menu.
House features, a seasonal menu, and an extensive wine list were presented for us to peruse.
I had forgotten in the South that sweetened or unsweetened tea is as common as water to put on the table. I ordered a hot tea and my mom and our friend Lizette had the sweet tea. Two glasses with a slice of lemon were produced right away.
After several minutes of catching up and laughing with one another, we reviewed the menus and ordered the following: she-crab soup, basil-chicken-tomato soup, mixed green salad, tuna salad, blueberry crepes, and black bean cakes.
AMPLE portions were offered of all items. The she-crab soup was outstanding. I was expecting a heavier cream, a bisque. The generous amount of crabmeat and the lightness of the cream combined for a lovely soup. The salad greens were lightly dressed and I loved the tuna, which was also seasoned with a little bit of brown mustard for a little snap to the tuna.
My surprise and delight were the black bean cakes. They were large patties of rich black bean and topped with a corn-tomato salsa. Absolutely fabulous.
SERVICE
EXCELLENT. We had several servers filling iced tea glasses and responding to our needs for cream, honey, and hot sauce. My questions and request for recommendations about specific dishes were met with a delight to describe the nuances between dishes.
Wi-Fi was a great option and I would have Yelped from the restaurant if I wasn't visiting with family and friends!
REST ROOMS
We visited with each other, and not the rest rooms. I would expect the same care to detail as with the main restaurant dining area.
SUGGESTION?
More hot tea selection to match the excellence and variety of the menu and wine selection.
